Frequently Asked Questions Q. What is the Brotherhood of Blood? A. The Brotherhood Of Blood is a player run assassin's guild set in the fantasy gaming world of Ultima Online. The guild operates on the Catskills shard of the game. Q. So you are a bunch of Player Killers pretending to be role players? A. No far from it. The guild is designed to compliment other role playing guilds, by allowing more in depth plots and a sense of menace in existing guilds. We don't run around killing at random and for no reason. We have to be "hired" by other players. What their reasons are remain theirs. Q. This is confusing. Do you or don't you have a stone? A. The answer to this is yes. There are members who aren't on a stone. These members are special because they could well be on your stone. Sometimes people just don't fit into some guilds or can't find one they like. We do maintain a stone for them. Q. So what's to keep your guild from getting "peaced" by every role playing guild on the shard after the PK SiR BeLtChaLoT joins your guild and begins a random killing spree. A. Our standards for membership are probably more strict than any guild in existence on any shard. Also we have no stone or any war declarations to worry about. Q. How the hell can you have an assassin's guild without a stone or war declarations?!?!? A. That is the beauty of our guild concept. Members of our guild will comprise members of existing guilds. They will follow their guild's rules and stay on their respective stones. However by night, so to speak, they will be acting as our guild members. This creates a sense of "is my friend, and fellow guild mate Joe really working for them?" This also creates a sense of who's working for who. Who's the double agent mentality that can't be achieved with a guild stone. It would be sadly obvious who was an assassin if we had our own stone. We also do have a stone for those members who don't have a home guild. Either "stoned" or un-stoned members are equal members of the guild. Q. How will members know when and where to meet? How will they be able to pal around with their guild mates. A. We want this guild to seem as real and as secretive as possible. In a real life, or rather a fantasy fiction setting, even members of the actual assassin's guild know very little. This is to protect the guild as a whole. Otherwise if one member was to be captured the who guild would be hunted and killed. As a general rule we want our members to interact and pal around inside their existing guilds. We will call on them from time to time to fulfill their Assassin guild obligations. Q. Who's bright Idea is this, and who is calling the shots here? A. In a simple answer "The collector". I guess you were probably looking for more eh? More accurately the guild was designed by me and others. To keep things confidential I won't go into much more than that. I will however give some credentials. People involved have formed and run various role playing guilds in Ultima Online. The authors have also been a members of several other prominent RP guilds in the game. Some of the others run rather prominent guilds. The reason I don't want to mention names of guilds and what not is I don't want the Brotherhood of Blood to be associated with any existing guild. Q. Won't a list of members on your web site tip of Guild Masters that their members may be members of your guild as well? Won't their members working for your guild tip off other players. A. For that very reason the list of members will be kept privately by myself and The Voice. Most members will be encouraged to join the NPC thieves guild and use disguise kits when working for the Brotherhood.
